4th of July

Yesterday was the 4th of July and my daughter and grandkids came to spend the weekend with us. The fireworks were a bust since it started to rain, thunder and lightening just as it got dark enough to set them off. The weather was really humid but it really wasn't very warm out either yesterday or today so no swimming for the kids. Finally the sun came out tonight just before they had to go home. We still have fireworks to shoot off but their dad will be home from Afghanistan on Thursday so we will shoot them off next weekend.

What do you think future farmers? The boys just love going for rides on papaw's tractor.
The grandkids found some wild berries while out on a tractor ride. They were so excited to show them to me.

The kids with a few berries after they ate some.

Happy 4th of July

It's been almost a week since I posted last. I have been busy snowdyeing, I do approx 9 yards a day. I also have the Stacked Posie Supreme on my longarm. This quilt is taking quite a while to get quilted. I think it's been 2 days already and it's about 1/2 quilted.

I tried something new yesterday. I took a yard of fabric and wrapped it around a nylon rope then scrunched it down like ruching. I then added the dye and the soda ash. Today I will take it apart and see what I got.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th. Tonight we will go see the fireworks.
