Shipshewana Quilt Festival

We made it to Shipshewana on Sunday and got checked into our hotel, it being Father's day we decided to go out pizza found a great place to go in Howe, IN the name of the restaurant was Howe Family Restaurant but they had the best pizza I have ever had out in a restaurant. If I hadn't known better I would of thought Marc had made the pizza it was just as good as his home made.

As we drove around the country side we spotted this little car in someone's front yard and pulled over and got a few pictures. Just look at the dolls driving the car so cute.

Yesterday we went to the Shipshewana Flea Market where we found a few treasures then decided to go to the movies and see Toy Story 3. It was a good movie for being a kid movie I recommend everyone to see it.
Today we got set up for the Shipshewana Quilt Festival. Today from 2 til 6 is preview and tomorrow and Friday the show runs 9-6 and 9-4 Saturday then we take down.

Here's a picture of my booth in Shipshewana, they give us one 8 foot wall and 3 foot side rails so only the one side to hang quilts but it did work for us.

Columbus Ohio, Shipshewana IN

The Columbus Ohio show is over we took down yesterday, now we are in Shipshewana IN this show will be from Wednesday thru Saturday. Set up and preview night is Wednesday.

The Columbus show was okay sales were down just a little from last year. The hotel had double charged us for parking so I went to the front desk and talked to them and they took all of the parking fees off my bill. That was so nice since parking was $20 a night per vehicle and we had the trailer but didn't park it at the hotel every night that was the reason they had overcharged, we had left the trailer at the convention center and went to the front desk and told them and they mistakenly charged us for both anyways.

Tomorrow will be laundry and touring around Shipshewana, there are some great shops here and I can't miss Lolly's quilt shop, Tuesday will be the flea market.

I'm hearing rumors of this show turning into a mini Paducah with vendors set up all over town. They have added a second area with vendors but I am in with the quilts. Come on out and see us if your in the area.

Shipshewana

Had a fun day today. We did get the laundry done then went to Yoder's Department store. I only bought a couple sweatshirts to make jackets out of and NO fabric. The fabric didn't look any different from what I could get at home and the price was about the same.

Took a ride into Lake Station to see Marc's Aunt. Had a nice visit and headed back. It was a 2 hour drive to get there but we took the toll road back so saved a half hour. Tomorrow we will get to see the flea market and maybe some more quilt shops.

Set up for the show is on Wednesday morning opening at 3 on Wednesday afternoon.
