Yesterday was the start of the holiday weekend here at the lake. The stores were busy and so was the highway. The weekend warriors are here and those just coming for the weekend to visit are arriving.
Everyone traveling this weekend please stay safe don't drink and drive and when your on the waterways please be safe there as well.
Remember what this weekend is for remembering our military who have served or are serving and those that lost their lives for us.

Happy Labor Day!!
Here it is Labor day already, the last big weekend at the lake. The grandkids are back home, schools are back in session and today I pack the van to head to Madison WI in the morning for the Nancy Zeman Quilt Expo. If your in the area be sure to stop and see this quilt show it has always been a wonderful show with lots of beautiful quilts and great vendors and great classes.

Holiday Weekend
This weekend is a holiday weekend where we remember all of those who have and are protecting our country. I know for one I appreciate all our servicemen and women do for us. Thank you.
This being a holiday here at the lake we tend to stay home since there are so many tourist and weekend warriors here it is safer to stay off the roads and the lake. Today I have been working on cleaning,sorting, pitching and just straightening up my studio, after having the windows opened this spring alot of pollen and dirt got in.
I am working on a small tablerunner sample it's on my longarm and after I get it quilted I'll share a picture.

holiday weekend, my quilt
I hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend, here at the lake this the start of the busy summer season. This is when I stay off the roads and stay home. I would of probably worked on my quilt this weekend but 2 of my grandchildren (Trevor and Kaycee) will be coming to spend the weekend with us.
Here is a picture of my quilt that I have been working on for a few months now in my spare time. I have all the blocks for the inside of the quilt done but still need to make more for the borders. Maybe someday soon I will get it done so I can then dye the back and quilt it. The name of this pattern is ballroom ties in the book even squares can have a ball.
