Retreat is over and I am exhausted and home trying to catch up. I leave in 2 short weeks for the Nancy Zeman show in Madison WI called Quilt Expo so I have lots to do to get ready for this show. I'm going to have a few new to me techniques so if you are at this show stop in and see what's new.
My dryer went out in my house and we had the repair guy here to fix it, I have a front loader and it is all computerized, the error I was getting is E1, and it seemed the clothing just wasn't getting dry. Come to find out it was the thermistor, not the thermostat. It is very similar but with this type of dryer it is called something different and is a little different. The part has been ordered and should be in next week in the meantime I will be doing the laundry in my studio so I can work and do the laundry at the same time instead of doing it in the evenings.
I also have been longarm quilting since I have been home, I have gotten 5 quilts complete and back to their owner and picked up one more yesterday. 2 and 1/2 of these quilts were done before I left on retreat.
It's back to work for me and I think I am finally beginning to get some of my energy back.

almost home
We have been gone about 2 1/2 weeks and tomorrow we will be back home. We leave again on Wednesday to spend the holiday with my daughter's family so it will be a short time at home, hopefully enough time to do the laundry and make a few pies before we leave once again.
I have taken tons of pics to share but won't have time until after the holiday so look for them in a few days. I'll post a few at a time.

Home Again
I'm home again for a short two weeks then on to Ohio for NQA and IN for the Shipshewana Show. MQS turned out to be an okay show. It was slow at first but did pick up. I was able to see a few friends and meet a few blog friends Hi Jean!. I meet David Taylor and he loved my fabric so much that he told his class they should come down and buy it. Thanks David! I also meet a gal that bought my fabric in the past and took it to a class in CO with Ricky Timms and he was very impressed with my snowdyed fabric. Anyone using my fabric please send me a picture and I will post it on my website under inspiration. Now to get the laundry done and the house back in order.

home again
We made it home yesterday evening from Texas. Today is just a beautiful 80 degree day here, the trees are blooming and budding, the crickets are singing and signs of spring are everywhere.
Some people should not be given a driver's license, I had heard of this before but had never seen it, we were driving through OK on our way home yesterday when we saw this guy driving south in the northbound lanes, we honked at him to try to get his attention and he just smiled and waved, we watch through our rear view mirror as he went on and others were honking and flashing their lights, this guy just kept going and waved at everyone as he went by. I sure hope nobody was hurt by this.
It seems like I spent a lot of time on the road today since everything is at least a 15 to 30 minute drive and tomorrow it will be an hour drive to take Marc to the doctor, living in the country has it's perks but when you have to go shop it is always an all day thing. Today was a busy day for me since Marc is unable to do very much he has been icing his back and resting a lot, I did the grocery shopping, laundry and got the mail and a little house cleaning to. I also was able to get 9 yards of fabric snowdyed and got dyes mixed up for tomorrow. While putting away the groceries we found that the shed had the power go out on us so everything in the freezer wasn't any good. We got the power going again and I tossed the food that had thawed. We had to reset the breakers and all worked after that but since I had frozen stuff I took it into my studio and put it in the freezer in there. I guess when it rains it pours around here. Tomorrow will be just as busy as I take Marc to the back doctor, I sure hop he does something for him as I haven't seen him in this much pain since before his first back surgery.

Home
There is no place like home and my own bed. We got back home this afternoon, it was a 6 hour drive from OK City. It was really nice to get home, we got everything unpacked and all the laundry done. Tomorrow I will get my inventory of what I took with me done and all my paperwork. I was really worried that I wasn't going to make my expenses since the first two days were so slow but on Saturday things turned around and I did okay. I have about 6 weeks to get ready for my next 5 shows so I will start getting more fabric dyed and ready to go. First though I need to order some more pfd fabric maybe 400 yards this time.
