Christmas Poem

I read this on one of my groups and thought I might share it with you.

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be fat quarters or a pattern or lace?
Or a quilt kit, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa," I said
"You know....good little girls should be in their beds ".
"I know I should Santa, and now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look in this room where you work."
He shook his head quickly, And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear.
"You've got enough stuff, I'll see you next year!"

Quilting again and internet woes

It seems like my internet has been more off then on lately, we stopped by city hall today to see how the new system is going to work for the city, but it's not up and running yet so will have to wait and see if it will reach us. We are about a mile from town but can see the water tower and that's where the new one is suppose to be located. We have Hughes Net and since I have been back from vacation it's just not working or is really slow and we can't even get into anything.

In the past week I have gotten my studio cleaned and I have been making some oven mitts and pot holders and also got a 103x105 quilt quilted. This quilt in the picture below I have had in my to be quilted pile for way to long. I think I made this top in the winter of 2004-2005 so it's about time it's gotten done. I have decided that I wanted to get some of my quilts quilted in the next year and this was the first of many to be done.

Sweatshirt Jacket

This is a sweatshirt jacket I'm making my mom for Christmas, she doesn't have a computer so I can put this here. I still have the binding to sew down and also some buttons to get and put on. I have used 3 different machines to make this, it seems like everything breaks at the same time but I think I can get them all fixed without to many headaches. I used a bali pop for the patchwork, I did prewash the sweatshirt and fabric before hand. Have you ever washed a bali pop? I sure don't recommend it they get all tangled up in a ball and you have untangle them before ironing and I had some good creases in them even after I ironed them. I think it turned out pretty good even with all the machine problems. I hope she likes it and it fits.

internet woes

I haven't been able to get on line for about a week now. The internet is either working really slow or I'm getting web acceleration, I really hate paying for something I can't use.

As of December 1st I have closed my online store. I can't justify paying what I have to pay to keep it open. I will still be doing a few shows next year and I may put some fabric on etsy for sale.

I had promised vacation pics but with the way the internet is working I think I had better just move on. We have been getting ready for Christmas here, the tree is up and all the decorations. I have a few more things to get sewen but then again my sewing machine is also in the shop so I have one that I am borrowing. when it rains it pours around here.
