300th post and raccoons

This is my 300th post and to celebrate I will be giving away a fat quarter bundle of black and whites. Be sure to sign up for the giveaway and I will pick a winner next Sunday.

This looks like mom and baby, the little one isn't any bigger then a kitten oh so cute but not in my garbage.
There was a third one that had been trying to dig mom and the baby out. It looks like when I went out my front door that mom told it to leave before it was in the same predicament as her. We'll set the trap again tonight and see if we can catch the other one. I'm sure it will come back to see if it can find mom.

  1. Maybe you could give coons as the prize for your giveaway. LOL Our sweet corn is setting ears, so we'll see what our coon population is like this year. So far in the wildlife dept. it's just been deer tromping through the garden.

  3. Congrats on the 300th post. Looks like you have a whole family visiting you. Will be interesting to see how many you catch. They are kind of cute, even though I know they are pesky to have around.

  4. Oh...what will you do with the raccoons once caught? We used to have a neighbor who had one as a family pet. It was fun having it live right next door.
I spotted your blog because of them but the giveaway is a bonus too. Congrats 300th post is fantastic!! I need to go read more on your blog to see what all you do!

  5. Friends tried humane-trapping raccoons to protect their corn, and had no success because their curious barn cats wouldn't stay out of the traps!

  9. We trapped EIGHT raccoons last year! If they wouldn't do so much damage we would leave them be, but they get worse all the time. Wondering what this year's population will be...

congrats on 300 posts. I admire anyone who blogs. I think I'd like to someday, but for now, I'm content to read everyone else's! so much inspiration and eyecandy!

Black and whites are fabs I don't buy alot of, so this will fill in gaps very nicely. I did win some bk/wht scraps from a blogger who made a great Christmas tree wallhanging....some of the bits are too small to make the same hanging, so these FQs would extend my 'reach' there as well.

Of course I'll become a follower of your blog now and would love to be entered into your giveaway as I am VERY short on black and white fabric in my stash. Congrats on 300 posts...I'm soon to be at that #, also. Going to look at more of your posts now. I love to find good blogs that are new to me! Be careful of those coons!

  12. 3oo posts - wow! My brother had a family of racoons living in his chimney! Once the babies were big enough to crawl out for their night adventures of looking for food, my brother crawled up on the roof and capped the chimney so they couldn't get back in.
