MQS

As I promised here is a picture of my booth. The show has been a little slow but I knew it would be since most of the people who come to this show are here for longarm supplies, pantos, threads, or are here to test different machines. I did get the opportunity to meet David Taylor which was a great experience by itself. He is an awesome quilt designer and quilter.

MQS

I have the trailer all packed and ready to go to Overland Park, Kansas for the MQS show. MQS is the machine quilters showcase, this is mainly attended by longarm machine quilters but in the past few years they have changed it and now is open to all. Yes I said trailer instead of van, we are taking it and the truck this time since I purchased a batting holder and it will be delivered to the show. I got a really great deal on it more then 50% off so we are taking the truck and trailer so we have enough room to bring it home now to find room in the studio for it.VBG This show runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday and they will have shopping frenzy on Wednesday and Schoolhouse on Thursday night. This is a really good show to attend so if you find yourself in the area be sure in stop in.

home again

The Paducah show was slow, the crowds weren't there and the sales were down. The Executive Inn was not renovated and was extremely hot. The vendor areas to the left and right of the galleria were not marked adequately, there were small 4x8 signs and tape on the floor, the sun blasted down through the ceiling and people just were to hot to shop, now for the main expo center it was actually cold in there and there were crowds there. Alot of people say they just didn't know about all the little rooms off to the sides. I will not do the Paducah show again unless there are better facilities. I'm home again for a short 3 weeks then off to Overland Park for the MQS show.

MQS show

Last week was the MQS show. The shopping frenzy was really fun. They had 4 hours where there were no classes and only the merchants mall opened. I gave a 10% discount during that time and all the vendors were offering specials. This year it was aimed more towards the home-quilter and a lot of the guilds were invited to come out with a less expensive ticket rate to get in. My snowdyed fabric also was very popular at this show.
Here are a few pictures of my booth, not much different then at other shows. I'm glad to be home, now it's time for inventory. I don't have anymore shows until August and that one will be an AQS show in Nashville so I have all summer to dye and play and hopefully make a few different samples.
