nesting robin round one and the perfect flag red

March round one of the nesting robin was to use a complementary color for the color harmony and for the technique we were to use squares or rectangles. Here is my piece with the addition of a checkerboard. I used colors that had black added to them so they are a little dark but I don't want the entire piece real bright. In the future I will add both dark and light colors so this should work well.


In the hunt for the perfect flag red I did 5 samples today. I think I'm pretty close.

nesting robin center

I didn't get to much accomplished today I had a dentist appointment this morning so that took my morning. This afternoon I worked on my nesting robin center below is a picture of the finished center it measures 12 1/2 inches. I also did 2 shibori pieces for my dyeing group swap. I'll post pictures tomorrow after rinsing and washing.

Nesting Robin and Bingo

Above is a picture of two of the color wheels I did yesterday a dark and a med color. These are for the Nesting Robin Quilt that I will be doing with one of my dyeing groups. I used Dharma Fire Red, Dharma Sky Blue and Dharma Golden Yellow.

I also dyed a light wheel today and a wheel with nickel added to it. It is batching until tomorrow.

I won a great prize from my friend Karen in November from playing bingo, so its my turn to be hostess and give a prize. Today I announced the theme of Winter Fun so everyone picks 12 words and sends them to me after that I make a master list and they pick 12 words from it. I worked today on the prize but I will talk more about it tomorrow when its done. Below is a picture of the great prize I won.
