Back at it

I have been sick most of the week so I didn'tget much done. I've been to the doctor and also for a cat scan so I have spent maybe a day all week in my studio. I was able to do a little embroidery on a shirt and also made my dh a pair of shorts. I know here in MO we have freezing rain and a little snow but my dh wears shorts all year, I have 4 more pairs to go.

I won an ornament from my friend Kate and I received it in the mail today. I hung it on my tree and will enjoy it every year. My tree has all handmade ornaments on it.
My granddaughter came to spend the day with me and she wanted to pose in front of our tree.

This is a shirt I embroidered for my granddaughter for christmas. She is so picky so I took a plain jean shirt and embroidered it and added some bling.

Handwork Pocketbook

Here it is the day before Thanksgiving and we finally got some fall weather. Monday and Tuesday we had temps in the mid 70's and today we have only low 40's. Tonight and tomorrow we expect snow flurries. BURR I'm not ready for that. Today I got my pies, stuffing, jello and sweet potatoes made for Thanksgiving. My daughter and her family will be over for dinner on Thanksgivings so that will make 5 of us. We are going to deep fry a turkey but I am also doing a small breast since everyone likes the white meat.
Yesterday I started working on a handwork pocketbook I finished it up today. I used some of my handdyes and some commercial fabric. I also used a white ribbon to tie it close but was thinking I should of used purple but it looks okay. This is for the guild auction next month. We are trying to raise some money for the guild. We are a new guild that just started last March and have approx. 35 members so for our Christmas party we are all bringing a desert plate and some items that we made for the auction.

Today's Accomplishments

This is a block that I did for the thangles bom. I choose the green and red christmas colors. We purchase a block pattern and fabric for a dollar and bring it back the next month and get the next block for a dollar, if we do not finish the block we pay $3.00. One more and I'll have all twelve done. I'll get that block next month.

This is a block for guild. We have a lotto every month, we buy for a quarter some fabric and a pattern and we then add some of our own fabric. The piece we were given is the fall colors and I added the rust handdye and the cracked ice that I dyed golden. I made two of these blocks today. This block is called floating square.

These are the gift bags I made for the kids my daughter babysits. I noticed one is bigger then the other I will fix that by cutting the top down and sewing the bottom seam to make it smaller. I wonder how I did that. I made one of these yesterday and the other 4 today.
