Blocks and Yellow Brick Road

I have been working on this yellow brick road quilt for a little while now. First I didn't like the way it looked so I took apart the blocks and put them back together. After that I put on a border that just didn't work, the colors were the same but they were lighter and it just didn't look right so I took off the borders and decided to make the piano key border and also put in a piece of sashing between the border and the quilt. I think I like the way it looks now and need to get a backing put together and then get it quilted maybe tomorrow.

In the meantime I decided to use up some of my scraps. I usually just hang onto them and then when I have enough I take them to a quilt show and say fill a baggie for $5
But after seeing so many other people using up some of their scraps by making different blocks I decided to make some wonky blocks. These are similar to log-cabin just cocked at an angle. I have them laying on my longarm right now and will put them on my design wall and fill in the open spaces with more strips.
