quilting and Lucy

These are the last of the quilts I have to quilt for clients right now. The patterns are the exact same just different colors.

Lazy Lucy, she found out today that if she just leans over the edge of her bed she could reach her food. Here she is eating. She has been a pretty good puppy, today we spent alot of time outside and she is pretty worn out. She has slept most of the last 3 hours time to wake her up and get her tired out so she will sleep tonight.

Merry Christmas

Not much going on around here just wanted to pop in and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
A few days ago we added a puppy to our family. This is Lucy she is only 6 weeks old and is a very smart little pup. She has had only a handful of accidents  since we got her and most of the time she'll whimper and wants to go outside. She weighs in at a whopping 2 pounds 8 ounces. We took her to the vet the other day for her well puppy check up, they said she looked a little pale and gave me some meds. I asked how can you tell a dog is a little pale I had never heard that before. They said her gums were light in color and should be darker. Learn something new everyday. I guess taking her to a old country doc makes a difference they are all the nicest people there while we visited she was given a bath and her nails clipped all free of charge.

My dh went for his 6 month doctor visit to the heart doctor and found out his heart was in a fib once again. they have no idea what is causing this, they had him wear a monitor for 24 hours and in a couple weeks he will go in for an ultrasound of his heart. I pray all goes good with this.

The work front has been really slow getting only about 5 hours a week at The Gap but quilting  is keeping me busy. Took Lucy to the studio yesterday and she wanted all the attention so didn't get much done. I have 2 baby quilts to make from scratch, both for an auction and 2 queen size quilts to get quilted for a client.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a blessed new year.

4th quilt

This is the 4th quilt I have quilted this week. Just loved this quilt using Dr. Seuss fabric, I used a light blue thread and the panto is called Spiral Path. I got this quilt taken off my machine and thought well I'm all caught up for now, that lasted a whole 5 minutes when another client stopped and dropped off  2 more quilts. These will be done next week, taking tomorrow off and then I work both Friday and Saturday. Have a great weekend.

weather and quilting

Once again we are under a tornado watch until 3am, it's going to be a long night  here in Central MO. Keep all those in harms way in your prayers, I hear 7 have died in OK today and they are still finding bodies in Joplin MO which is only 3 hours south west of me.

Today I spend part of the day working on a client's quilt and tomorrow will be another busy day for me. My dh has allergies to something where it is breaking out around his eyes and inflaming the area around them so we are off to the city tomorrow to the dermatologist.  I sure hope they give him something to help him.

Stay safe everyone.

more quilting and weather

This is another client's quilt that I finished quilting today.
After getting this quilt quilted I went back to working on the Fairfax County Fair quilt until the power went out, I have only one more border to put on it and then get it quilted not sure if it will happen tomorrow my grandkids are coming for a visit so no quilting while they are here only playing. We had some severe weather go through here this afternoon, there were tornado warnings everywhere and one actually one was spotted on the ground by a state trooper. We faired the storm with only the power going out for about an hour or so, I hope all my friends are okay I'm sure I will hear from them later.

Feathers Feathers everywhere

This little top I made at the Jo Morton Retreat last Feb but today I finally got it quilted. This is the first quilt I did feathers on, I know I need alot more practice but it doesn't look to bad. I should of used a dark busy back and you wouldn't see every time I went off.

Quilting

The last few days I have been quilting for customers. I got 2 quilts done and a third one I didn't like the border thread and I was having some issues with tension so I'm ripping it out. It may take me awhile but I would rather have it right. I also got some dye mixed up today so tomorrow I can get some t's dyed. This is a busy week for me, quilting, dyeing and getting ready for Easter. My grandkids are coming for the weekend they haven't been here since early last fall before they moved.

more quilting

I have no pics to show for yesterday since I spent the day trying to get most of my end of the year paperwork done. Today was another story, these 3 little quilts are all from Jo's Little Women Club and measure finished approx 18"x22", I did these quilts at retreat last year but didn't have time to get them quilted so today I got 3of them quilted and two have the binding on. It feels so good to get things from my to quilt pile done, I still have quit a few to do but they will get done one by one.

Dyeing Days and Quilting

I don't have any pictures to share since the last couple of days have been spent scouring fabric and dyeing fabric. I was also able to get the bullseye quilt quilted and bound. I didn't use black batting since I didn't have any and I'm sorry I didn't. I have always heard stories of how the batting came through the back of the quilt when quilted. Now I have used white batting before with a black backing and this has never happened before. I guess I learned my lesson this time.

I finished the quilt for my husband's aunt's 80th birthday. I have been asked by a few to see the backing fabric and the quilting. So here are the pictures of it.

Dyeing Day

I finally was able to do some dyeing today. I did 2 colorwheels one was a dark shade and one a med shade. I ran out of fabric so I need to get 6 more yards. This fabric will be used for my round robin. I have the fabric batching until tomorrow so I'll post pictures tomorrow.

I also got my stars and strips quilt quilted and bound today. Glad to have that done.

quilting

Today I was able to get the logcabin quilt quilted and bound. It turned out pretty good, I used a meandering feather panto by Linda Taylor.

I didn't get the Stars and Strips on the machine like I had hoped I would with therapy today so tomorrow I will get it put on/quilted and bound.

The mail today brought me some locking syringes and some 10 mil cylinders, hopefully I'll get back to dyeing this weekend.
